Mail

Hi Stephanie
Answering your question, of course I can tell you about Paz. She's 21, she's studying psychology and she's in her third year. She lives in Concepcion with her mom and brother and studies in the University of Concepcion. Her dad lives in Temuco and she goes visit him once a month at least.
I believe she's a really awesome person, she always worries about her love ones. She's very smart and responsible with her studies and has passed all of her classes on time. She loves cats and had one for over 10 years, but sadly she died about 3 months ago.
She likes staying at home and watch a good movie or series, or even read a good book. She's a very independent person and she likes to do things alone sometimes.
The only negative thing I can think of are that she's a little impatient, specially with her brother, and that she's untidy, mostly with her room. But besides that she's an amazing human being and any person would be lucky to meet her.I hope this information is useful, and you can write me if you have any question.
Love, Carla.

I had a great experience learning English at this university, sometimes it took me some of my time to study, but besides that I enjoyed the class, because it was really dynamic and never the same, we watch videos and always got the chance to talk to our partners in class, so we were always practicing the speaking, and learning a lot J
The blogs actually got me thinking sometimes in what to write and how should I express myself in English, but I believe that it really help me to learn how to be a better writer, besides the practice makes the master, so it was awesome that I had to do them regularly. Besides it was really fun because the topics where dynamic, and they were according to our taste!
I believe that I can improve in my speaking, I hope I get the chance, sometime, to go to an English speaking country and be there at least half year to be immersed in the language and besides to get to know a new culture. But for now, I’ll take the last course. that I have to take the other semester, and go from there.

Outside the class I’m using English for everyday things, like watching movies and series (hopefully without subtitles, or with English subtitles), and I always listen to music in English, so I’m always knowing new words. I try to do this more and more, because I’m always afraid of forget the language, and I really like it so I practice as much as I can.

I believe that the phycology’s program has a good base, but there are some subjects that I find unnecessary, at least in the first semester which is the level where I am. One of them is anthropology, I know that it’s a social science too, so we have to learn it, but I really think that has nothing to do with psychology, so I find it completely unnecessary. Also social history of Chile is one of the subjects that I find really interesting but I don’t see the relation with psychology. Also it’s sad that we only have work practice on the last year of the career and nothing before 😞
I that something that really bothers me it's that teacher wait till the last month of the semester to put every test and assignment that we have to do, and I find that super stressful for everyone, us and the teachers that have to check everything.
In my faculty the infrastructure is very decent, the university built a new edifice recently and the old one has good classrooms and a great library! Besides most of my classes are in a new building that is for all the careers of the campus, and it’s really pretty and you never get cold in there 😁
A thing that I really like of my classes and teachers is that they give the option to do the tests in our house send them to their emails, so we have the chance to think the questions for days and gave better answers that we would do in a normal situation, were we’ll be really nervous.
Regards the teaching methods I think that my teachers are really good ones, and they’re always willing to answer your doubts, besides most of them are really friendly!

Winter Holidays

Temuco, Chile
In this winter holidays, I'm going to my home town, Temuco, I'm staying at my house with my mom, my grandma and my grandad, I'm super excited of coming back home 💕
I'm not planning anything special for this holiday, I just want to have a calm couple of weeks and relax from all the stress that this semester has been. I want to visit the rest of my family too, I hope I get to see my other grandma, who always cook me super delicious food and it’s amazing! And my aunts, uncles and my little niece! I’m also excited from going out with my dad, we’ll probably be traveling the surroundings of Temuco on the weekends.
I’ll probably chill with my friends, almost all live in Santiago, but I don’t get too see them as much as I would like because we never have time So we’ll get together and have a great time!
Besides I would love to catch up with my series, I haven’t had time to watch them and I’m super late, so I’ll save some time to watch them!
I would love to go skiing to Villarica volcano with my family, but I don’t know if my dad’s going to have the time.

Villarica Volcano
But mostly, the thing that I really want to do is relax and have a calm holiday, be with my family and get some rest, besides I really miss my family

I consider myself an animal lover, I really love animals they’re so cute and important in life! The only ones that I don’t like are insects and spiders haha but I try to deal with them.

When I was a child I had hens and a rooster, I had them for a year and they were really agitated and they always escape from home so me and my brother had to go looking for them in every house of the neighborhood, it was actually funny! But the courtyard was really messy so my parents decide to kill them, it was sad but there was nothing I could have done. After that I didn’t get any other pet, my parents didn’t like them even thought I loved animals, so I was always asking for a pet, but they never listen. I would love to have a dog or a hedgehog ground, I really love how cute they are!

I believe that dogs are the best pet in the whole world, they’re so sweet and caring with humans, they’re loyal and fun to play with, I just love them! ❤😍 I’m a little afraid of big dogs because when I was little, my cousin’s dog bite my finger, she was playing but I was little so I got really scared, but I love them anyway, it’s just that sometimes I don’t play as much with them as I play with little dogs haha.

I hate the use of animals in medical or science research, I know that it help us to know a lot of things but I find so cruel to kill an innocent animal, it’s even selfish! Besides the laboratories, sometimes, don't have the right conditions to have an animal, and that’s even crueler.

If I could be an animal I would choose to be a lioness, mostly because they’re so awesome and have so many strength, I find them admirable and a good example that, even in animal world, women can be as powerful as men! 💪

I would like to do a Master in Psychology Mention Clinical Psychology Children and Youth; it's really interesting to me because i would like to work with autistic children, like I have already mention, so it's a step for me to get there, probably I’ll have to study more after doing this master, but it’s a way to start in this line of work that I really love.
One of the subjects that really interest me is Child and Youth Psychopathology, because the line of work that I want to follow its strictly relatable to this. Beside it can show me all the aspects of the different psychopathologies that exist in children and adolescents. Another subject that has my attention is Theories of Human Development, mostly because it can teach me how a person gets to be who and how she/he really is, I found it fascinating and something really huge to learn about.
I'd love to study abroad, it's one of my dreams to be able to live and study in another country, I'm not sure where exactly I'd like to study but preferably in an English speaking country.
I'd prefer to study in a part-time course that way I can work too, and I'd have time to walk around the city and to study for the master.
It would be amazing to be able to do all this things and accomplish this goal that I have since a long time!

Movies

I usually go to the cinema when it's a movie that I really want to see, probably 4 or 5 times a year, I love going to the cinema, it's awesome. Mostly I watch movies at home in Netflix or I download them. The last film that I saw was 'Beauty and the Beast' and I went to the cinema with my cousin, brother and mom, it was really good, I'm a Disney fan all the way!

It's difficult for  me to pick a favorite movie, but I really like this movie called 'Fathers and Daughter' it's a drama where the main character, Katie, it’s the daughter of a Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist, the father has a mental break down and was send to the hospital so he had to leave his daughter with her uncle. The movie is set in the present where Katie has problems to forge connections of her own, because of all she had to live through with his dad. The movie is not amazing but I really like it because it shows how the father’s really worried for her kid, and how he would do anything for her, it reminds me of how my dad it’s with me and I thought it was really awesome that a movie show how a father it’s with his children. I have seen it at least 3 times and I cried every time hahaha, I would recommend it, it’s not as great as other movies, but it really got me the way the dad it’s with Katie J

I would like to re-watch Spootlight, it’s a movie that premiere not too long ago and it’s really amazing, I’ve watched it only one time and I would love to watch it again!
